Wargirl’s Coming for You

A new 10-track album from funk and indie-pop outfit Wargirl you said?

Yes, Dancing Gold is released on June 12th, and in the meantime, three singles are already out: Dancing Gold (track eponymous to the album), Hang On, and 2069 sporting cute and witty lyrics, plus a fun animation video.

The six-piece band, based in Long Beach near Los Angeles, are back with their second studio album to drop on Hamburg, Germany label Stine Mühle. The whole is filled with good vibes, a sunny mood, and uplifting social commentary as well: “We are contrary people gravitating towards concepts like anarchy. We are not big fans of power-hungry war-mongering governments. We prefer love and kindness and lifting up our fellow humans. We hope we can make something that is empowering everyone and reminding us to reject the power structures that treat us as taxable cattle.”

Dancing Gold feels fresh but familiar at the same time, in the words of the band “It feels like it comes from a spirit of friendship and truth and love”… definitely a good one for this end of spring, singing along and dancing your way into summer.
