Unwed Teenage Mothers is an emerging power-pop/punk-pop band out of Mississippi with an infectious, feel-good vibe and a newly released single, “Nothing Will Ever Get Any Better.” The track is the first single off their upcoming debut LP, Goodnight Girls, due out January 13th. The band is known for delivering fast, guitar-driven songs full of catchy hooks and the new single does not disappoint.
“Nothing Will Ever Get Any Better” is a fast track with a driving beat that has a frenetic feel. And with its highly danceable rhythm and sing-along chorus, “Nothing” hooks you in right from the start. Although there are some fairly pessimistic lyrics under the song’s feel-good vibe, they did not deter me from tapping my foot, bobbing my head, and belting out the oft-repeated chorus: “Tomorrow we will all be dead. Tomorrow we will all be dead. Yeah. Oh, yeah.” It’s a seriously infectious song that makes it damn near impossible not to move your feet and sing along. Every track on Goodnight Girls was recorded live over a three-day period by Andrew Ratcliffe at Tweed Recording. According to the band, the album was recorded that way “… with the goal of capturing the feel of our live shows, which are pretty manic, but still tight.” If this first single is any indication, then that mission was accomplished.
In addition to releasing a new album, the band has also landed an impressive number of sync placements with nationally acclaimed TV shows like The Fosters and About a Boy, and with major brands like Vans Shoes. The band will spend October and November touring nationally in preparation for their debut release. Be sure to check the band’s social media links for updated tour and album information.
