Two for Thursday: White Room | Alex Siegel

Our twofers are coming around quickly.  Today’s pairing differ both in terms of genre and geography but are united in their necessity to be embraced by your ears.

Embrace them why don’t you?

White Room – “Take me away”

Brighton five-piece, White Room have just released a double A-side single in advance of the summer and festival season.  Starring at The Great Escape last weekend, they are also on the bill at several more festivals including Kendal Calling and Camden Rocks.  “Take me Away” is a nice taster, a psych-rocker with a swirling mysticism at the heart of it.

Alex Siegel – “Good Leg”

If you’re wanting something more laid back, then the folky atmosphere created by Santa Monica singer-songwriter, Alex Siegel will certainly fit the bill. “Good Leg” mixes a late 80s lounge/soul feel with an occasional element of quirkiness.  Explaining the song, Alex  says he is “reflecting on youth and the journey to finding oneself and discovering what you’re made of, what you believe in.”  Debut album, Röykkä came out earlier this week.
