Three for Thursday…Jack Garratt, Bobby Uzöma, Michl

You wait and wait for some fresh, deep electronic soulful male artists… and then three come along at once.  We have a trio of bass rumbling beauties for you to capture that early weekend feeling.

The name Jack Garratt should already be familiar. Making waves in the UK after being tipped for 2016 in all the right places, his April UK tour has just completely sold out.  He has just released “Fire” which is a hypnotic bass heavy slab of wonder which grows into a complex, soulful, almost 2-step stomp.  Jack Garratt on Facebook

Here’s something mesmerising in the style of neo soul acts like James Blake or Jamie Woon.  “Holy Grails” is the third single from Calgary based Bobby Uzöma.  It avoids the obvious post-dubstep beats sticking to a chilled, minimal bliss throughout with the vocal melting over it, scaling emotion with a smooth, gorgeous falsetto.  Bobby Uzoma on Facebook

Michl (pronounced My Cull) got big hits for his first single last year and “When You Loved Me Least” (his second which came out this week) looks set to do the same.  The vocal provides a dreaminess within the contemporary beats adding a woozy, summery chillwave feel.   Michl on Facebook
