The Eaton Wash Shares Debut Single “Interrupted Sweatshirt (Different Blood)”

LA songwriter KC Maloney has seen success over the years with various projects, namely his indie/electronic moniker Adult Karate. The Pasadena native has launched his new solo project under the name The Eaton Wash, which released its debut single “Interrupted Sweatshirt (Different Blood)” this week. The track is a beautiful slow burn – perfect for summer night bonfires shared with good company.

“Am I supposed to be ‘good’ during my life? Does it matter?” questions Maloney. “If it doesn’t matter, why am I programmed to feel like it does? Was what I did during my life good enough to get me to the next phase, whatever that is? It’s a theme that pops up several times on the album (not really by design, that’s just how it came out).”

No one should be ever reduced to just one thing. Humanity and artistry are complex, full of nuance. As a musician, KC. Maloney opens a rich chapter with every subsequent project. Under The Eaton Wash, named for the paved river running through his hometown of Pasadena, Maloney expresses his singer-songwriter side, crafting sunny folk-pop that explores a light-dark dichotomy in the vein of Elliott Smith and Nick Drake.
