“Smoke in the Air” – New video from Candice Gordon

“Smoke in the Air” is a smouldering soundtrack for the winter…a chilling, nostalgic, epic sound.

Candice Gordon was raised in Dublin, but hails from Botswana, and is now based in Berlin where the single will be launched tomorrow (Friday 13th).  Her voice is like a soaring hybrid of Nico and Billy MacKenzie, with a sprinkling of dark drama within its majesty.

It is a tempting preview for her forthcoming album.  The musical backing is restrained enough so there can rightly be a focus on the voice, which is as smoky and poetic as the video images.

You can also catch her at Sebright Arms, London on 17 November.

As a lover of music, cats and chocolate it was inevitable that Paul would end up writing for us. A tireless singer/songwriter from the UK with a tiresome number of music projects, his worrying knowledge of the 80s and the evolution of crisps and confectionery (or chips and candy for our US readers) has seen him both gain jobs and lose friends.
