NYC’s Slow Sugar is enjoying success at an early stage, having generated a considerable amount of buzz in the NYC area from their debut single “Hypnotic Love,” released back in July. The electro-pop duo, made up of Alex Utay and Danielle Harris, have unveiled their sophomore effort in “Pieces” – a booming anthem blurring the line between power ballad and sugary sweet pop single. It oozes with quality songwriting production, appealing to fans of female-fronted powerhouses like Halsey, Tove Lo, and Lana Del Rey.
“’Pieces’ is a song about clarity and resilience,” explains guitarist Alex Utay. “On the surface, it’s a breakup song – but it doesn’t focus on anger or resentment. It instead captures the moment where you realize you can be whole again after losing yourself in a relationship.”
Be sure to keep an eye on Slow Sugar – they’re poised to turn heads throughout the remainder of 2016 and into the new year.
