NYC pop duo Slow Sugar has revealed yet another tasty tune, this one entitled “Shotgun.” It’s a bit edgier than their first efforts – with the vocals of Danielle Harris showing some grit in a way that we haven’t heard before. Although the duo caters to female indie-pop icons like Lana Del Rey, Banks, and Tove Lo – “Shotgun” showcases influences more in line with alternative stylings such as Tame Impala, among others.
“’Shotgun’ is the first song Alex and I wrote together, and it’s also the song that has undergone the most transformations,” explains Harris. “When I heard it all finally come together, I had chills. It keys into the emotional flux of a turbulent relationship–the coldness of knowing better, the vulnerability of losing control, and the power of making that choice to indulge in it anyway.”
If 2017 looks anything even remotely like 2016 for Slow Sugar, the only way for this infectious duo is up. Check out “Shotgun” below and enjoy.
