Samantha Margret Shares First Single of 2020 in “Emotional”

Bay Area pop songwriter Samantha Margret is back with her new single “Emotional” – a track that feels exactly like it’s title when you listen. Margret’s ethereal vocals get you up close and personal right away, sitting softly atop an R&B soundscape. She then transitions into a catchy radio-like chorus, somewhat reminiscent of Charlene Kaye.

What makes the release of “Emotional” even better is its greater purpose in helping to support women, many of which are of color. All artist royalties from the single release will be donated to SafeHouse SF – a non-profit program focused on empowering and supporting women who are experiencing housing insecurity, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking through survivor-centered space, services, advocacy and community education.

“I’ve been involved for a while with SafeHouse’s Hope Center as a way to support and sustain the city I grew up in,” Samantha Margret says. “I’m deeply grateful to my music community for showing me how my beliefs and my business can come together. I’m working to more actively incorporate the pursuit of intersectional justice and equality into the way I release music. This is an everyday kind of struggle, and partnering with SafeHouse is part of that longer journey.”

Keep an eye out for more new music from Samantha Margret later this year. For now, stream “Emotional” below.
