If the Talking Heads and Kate Bush had a baby, it would be the Hydrothermal Vents, a two piece band coming from Montreal that features John Tielli on lead guitar and Tessa Kautzman on bass and vocals. John is known for his critically celebrated past projects, while Tessa comes from an indie folk band and is known for her haunting vocals. They are considered a pop-rock-punk-dance band and when you first hear them they immediately make you take notice. The music is quirky, fun, and infectious. Don’t take my word for it though. Check out their Bandcamp site to hear them for yourself. Then like them, follow them, watch them and support them. The Hydrothermal Vents are just plain cool.
