Surfer-turned-alt/R&b artist NØVE recently burst onto the scene with his powerful debut track “Taboo” – drawing comparisons to artists like The Weeknd, The Neighbourhood, and SOHN. Today, we are excited to premiere his follow-up track entitled “Trigger,” to be featured on his upcoming EP Dark Paradise.
Strong production from LA producer Johnny What (one third of the electro-pop collective BRAVES) mixed with compelling songwriting from NØVE leaves us with a tasty yet ominous-sounding track. “Trigger” teeters on the ropes of melancholy while also giving listeners a taste of hope, and combines deep bass lines with uplifting synth patterns. You can truly hear a dark past in NØVE’s music.
This may only be the second installment of NØVE, but we sure do like where he’s headed. The Dark Paradise EP will drop this May.
