NYC: This Living Museum of Today’s Street Art Needs Your Help

The official City Council hearing #1 discussing G&M Realty’s project and the future of 5Pointz will take place on Wednesday, October 2 at 9:30 a.m. at 250 Broadway, Manhattan

Anyone with any concern for saving this living and live art gallery should make every effort to attend this meeting.  In an era where people are working hard to shut up the voices of rebellion, arts are one of their primary targets.  A people who will expect less of their art and not care if it progresses will expect the same of leaders and the state of their society.  5 Pointz may not display any works that make deep political statements but there are some that make cultural, social and emotional ones.  It is a United Nations of paintings and painters.  It proves that color, economic status and country of origin mean nothing to artists.

There are many museums that hold the art of the past.  This is a living museum of today’s street art which is equally important.  Do what you can to have your voice heard in saving this landmark.
