Electropop act Scarlet Soho (vocalist James Knights and bass/synth-ist Scarlet) has been locked in the studio for months working on the final installment of their ambitious EP trilogy. To satisfy our curiosity and desperate need for something new to blast in the car, the duo have released a sneak peek of what’s in store in the form of a video for the title track “Two Steps From Heartache”. Directed by Steve Hogg, the video features the duo looking fabulous while performing and doing a bit of acting, but the star of this three minute treat was that damn mime. I enjoyed his quirky dance moves, his awesome striped socks and his many failed attempts to get the attention of very unimpressed Scarlet and James. Check it out below!
With musician/producer/mixer James Yuil adding his touch to the track, Scarlet Soho delivers a solid electropop earworm. This track is a nod to the new wave artists who have influenced their sound but I won’t bother listing any names or making grand comparisons. Scarlet Soho is a band who should not be put in a box. The EP will be available via iTunes but you can preorder Two Steps From Heartache here. Keep an eye on a full album’s worth of Scarlet Soho electronic goodness in early 2015.
