New Video from Brian Marquis

Singer-songwriter Brian Marquis debuted the first music video from the solo artist leg of his journey.  Choosing “Drink You Up” from Blood and Spirits to introduce Marquis to cyberspace was brilliant.  This Connecticut born/Boston influenced artist is incredibly passionate about his music in general and his performances are always an experience.  The music video centers around one of those performances.  Set in an empty bar, it is Marquis and his guitar playing to a bartender who has ‘seen it all’. Whiskey, shotguns and an ending with a surprise twist all come together to hold viewers’ interest and leaves them wanting more.

The video premiered on NYLONguys magazine who spoke to Marquis about the meaning of the song. “‘Drink You Up” is a love song about recognizing the baggage we all carry once we’ve been through a few relationships in life and still finding that fire to give your all, your love, so intensely to another human being that you almost want to consume them to become one.”  The video depicts the singer’s efforts to drink those feelings away and a failure to do so.

Brian Marquis is currently on the 20th Anniversary outing of Vans Warped Tour which is making its way east from Missouri at this writing.  He is once again managing and performing on the Full Sail University Acoustic Basement stage.  Tickets are still available for most stops.  Summer, acoustic, with a cold beverage is the best way to enjoy “Drink You Up” and all the other songs Marquis will bring from Equal Vision LP Blood and Spirits and his previously self-released album Snow Damage.
