Formed in late 2012, Vodsel has accomplished so much in such little time. With a debut album and a compilation of extra one-off releases under their belt, Vodsel belongs to a new breed of music created through the magic of online file sharing. This Manchester/Wrexham duo take elements from synthpop and post-punk to create luscious, dark electronic sounds which are quite reminiscent of Depeche Mode, Joy Division and The Cure.
“We were in a band before years ago so we weren’t just internet strangers,” says vocalist Paul. “We’ve been quiet with releases over the last month or two because we have actually now met up to rehearse with the possibility of doing some gigs. It may have ruined the whole ‘never meeting up’ thing but the newest batch of songs we have done since have certainly not suffered.”
It’s been a busy year for Vodsel and 2014 promises to be just as productive as talks of a local tour and new music develop. We can’t wait! Their latest song “necrodancer” is available as a free download on their Bandcamp and Soundcloud pages.
