PEARL JAM

Veteran Seattle rockers Pearl Jam return this week with their new single “Getaway”, from the Lightning Bolt album. Lightning Bolt is the band’s tenth album since Ten all those years ago and with it being produced by Brendan O’Brien, you know it’s a surefire hit from Eddie Vedder and co. DAMON ALBARN

The frontman of indie music pioneers Blur and one of the Gorillaz main men, Damon Albarn is finally giving us music lovers a solo album in the shape of Everyday Robots. Even though he has said no Blur material will be out for a while, Gorillaz will feature in his upcoming solo tour. The album, Everyday Robots, will not be released until April but here is the title track of the album which is out this week and is available on the Parlophone/Warner label. | www.damonalbarnmusic.com  |  Damon Albarn on iTunes

DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS

Hailing from Athens, Georgia or R.E.M country, alternative-country outfit Drive-By Truckers return with their new album English Oceans. This is their first album in three years with several lineup changes but I don’t suppose anyone will notice that much. Available on the Soul Dump label, this is a cut from the album called Pauline Hawkins. | www.drivebytruckers.com  | Drive-By Truckers on iTunes

BLOOD RED SHOES

And finally, this week sees Brighton alternative rockers Blood Red Shoes release their fourth album, the self titled Blood Red Shoes. The duo of Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell will have been no doubt been dubbed The White Stripes of England, not a bad band to be compared to but don’t take a tag’s word for it. Buy it and judge for yourselves. Available on the V2 Cooperative label, this is a cut from the album called “An Animal”.  www.bloodredshoes.co.uk | Blood Red Shoes on iTunes
