Mountains, as defined by the Miriam Webster dictionary, are “area(s) of land that rise very high above the land around [them]”. This definition can easily be applied to Australian band MTNS. After listening to one song, it’s clear that this is not just another band. The unique transcendent vocals and ambient music create a sound that can simply be called alluring. The lyrics of each song speak of deep emotion. The Brisbane based trio released their debut EP, Salvage, in 2013 via Create/Control. Australian tastemaker radio triple J named the band a “band to watch” for 2014. As with any mountain, MTNS rise high above surrounding sounds for a unique and rewarding audio experience.
