Summer is upon us and I am pleased to present you with one of this season’s earworms. “Can You Hear Me Now” is the new single from LOWLAH, the current creative endeavor of artist/musician Anthony Improgo and you need to listen.
So, who is Anthony Improgo? Anthony is one of those guys who does it all. He writes, records, mixes, masters, shoots, edits, designs…the list is endless. He truly is the embodiment of the #360Artist ethos.
Once the drummer for the electro-pop powerhouse Parade of Lights, Anthony has been writing lyrics for a few years now but the vulnerable and hopeful sounds of LOWLAH didn’t come to life until recently. Inspiration for his music first came about as a result of his father’s death and Anthony needed an outlet for the dark emotions that began to consume his life. He merged these feelings with big, beautiful, layered sounds while teaching himself how to record and produce better than ever. Unfortunately, that creative process was put on pause when Anthony was involved in a serious skiing accident that left him close to being paralyzed. He broke three vertebrae in his neck, six ribs and both shoulder blades. Doctors were able to stabilize his neck and spinal cord by performing an anterior cervical fusion. To say Anthony has been through a lot is an understatement. He credits his skiing helmet with saving his life, but it’s LOWLAH that would save Anthony’s mind. We’re the lucky ones who get to enjoy the music that emerged from all of this.
“Can You Hear Me Now” is the first single from LOWLAH’s forthcoming EP. Check out the video for “Can You Hear Me Now” below which was shot, directed, produced, and edited by Anthony in the Arizona desert..
