Janet Devlin’s New EP is a Holiday Treat

Janet Devlin, the Irish songstress we’re kind of partial to here at Fourculture, released an enchanting Christmas EP, Little Lights, for the Holidays. Featuring a mix of her own originals with covers of a few timeless Christmas classics, Little Lights showcases Janet’s enchanting and unique vocals.

The EP blends beautiful ballads like Janet’s original “Merry Christmas Mum & Dad” and the lush string arrangement of “White Christmas,” with Janet’s upbeat indie-folk sound on “Something Beginning With Christmas.” There’s also a beautiful and moving rendition of Slade’s Christmas classic “Merry Xmas Everybody.”  But the stand out track is “Wake Up It’s Christmas.” On this track, Devlin beautifully captures the painful reality of waking up heartbroken on Christmas and her vocals are underpinned by a spine-tinglingly dreamy accompaniment that adds to the song’s emotive vibe. As a bonus, Little Lights includes last year’s digital-exclusive track, “Christmas Kiss.”

Janet Devlin’s Little Lights is a perfect stocking stuffer. It has something special for everyone on your Holiday list.
