LA songwriter IRIS may be new to most, but her songwriting and vocal ability are seasoned beyond her years. Her latest effort, “Stars,” is a perfect showcase of all her talent blended into a brooding, emotional tale of love and longing. IRIS possesses that timeless element that few can emulate, drawing on elements of Stevie Nicks’ classic delivery. Bits & pieces of modern-day stars can also be heard as well, namely Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey.
“When you truly love someone it never really stops,” IRIS explains. “Even if you’re not together, the love just lives somewhere else.”
The new single, along with her 2019 singles “Wait” and “Crazy,” was produced by GRAMMY Award Winner Malay (Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys, Lykke Li, Sam Smith, Lorde). IRIS plans to release more new music this fall, so be sure to keep up with her on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
