On the occasion of the two-day Los Angeles festival FROM GERMANY TO LA happening this weekend, Berlin-based American DJ-producer Sky Deep (Reveller Records) releases her track In This with two exclusive remixed versions.
Sky created the composition outside of her usual style, Detroit-Berlin DJ-producer Alan Oldham (BPitch Control) contributed with a techno dance-floor iteration and DJ-producer-vocalist Anna Cavazos (Little Giant) with a house-disco version. These three tracks illustrate different electronic music genres reflected in the variety of live artists and DJs on the festival lineup. Sky Deep, Anna Cavazos, and Alan Oldham are all playing at the event, alongside more Germany/USA talents such as DJ Hell, DJ Koze, Eric D. Clark, Kim Anh, Lady Starlight, Mouse on Mars, Tensnake, Tyree Cooper and a few more. The festival aims at showcasing the long-running bonds between the electronic music scenes in both countries since the late 80s, and also the different communities who play a crucial role in developing these scenes on both sides of the Atlantic.
FROM GERMANY TO LA is part of the Year of German-American Friendship 2018/19 – a collaborative initiative of the Federal Foreign Office, the Goethe-Institut, and with the support of the Federation of German Industries (BDI). The two-day festival is presented in partnership with Dublab, Reclaim the Beats Festival, and curated by Your Mom’s Agency – the Berlin platform behind the pioneering FROM BERLIN TO LA events in 2016 and 2017.
