Before I saw Great Good Fine OK open for Betty Who and Joywave at the House of Blues in LA some four and a half months ago, I had no idea what to expect when reading their name on the show bill. I was soon thoroughly (and unexpectedly) impressed by their brand of synth-dream-happy-sugar pop. Their debut EP Body Diamond has been on constant repeat since I discovered it, and its only real shortcoming was the fact that it featured a mere four tracks. What better way to leave people wanting more, though, right?
Well, GGFOK is back with their new single “Too Much to Handle,” which will be featured on the group’s upcoming EP 2M2H, scheduled for release on March 16th via Epic/Sony. The track hits all the sweet spots, and these guys have really hit the nail on the head in terms of appealing to pop music’s current appetite – nestled somewhere between Empire of the Sun and St. Lucia. Comparisons aside, the future for Great Good Fine OK is looking…better than great.
