LA’s Former Faces has been slowly bubbling for months now…releasing dreamy, ambient sounds since late last year and capturing the hearts and ears of many. Their debut EP Swimming in Circles, released last Friday, June 2, is quite the musical spectacle. It weaves in and out of echoey soundscapes, teetering on the line of dreams and reality.
“Swimming in Circles marks the end of the first leg of the Former Faces journey but it’s really just the beginning of our adventure,” explains vocalist Ryan Parmenter. “When I began the project I never envisioned I’d end up working and performing with such talented musicians. I’m very excited to transition into a more collaborative approach to songwriting, recording, and producing with these guys.”
As Ryan mentions above, Former Faces has evolved from a solo passion project to a collective effort of intricate songwriting. Word on the street is that a full-length album is already in the can, but only time will tell. We’ll be listening.
