Blimey! Sorry, but I just had to get that out of the way. You’ll understand why, once you listen to “Let’s Move In”, the enthrallingly brilliant first offering from Etches.
Based in Liverpool, but hailing from the far flung corners of the UK, Etches are five musicians that have come together to create a track so beguilingly beautiful, you’d swear they’d been doing this for years. Understated yet elegant electronics, impossible to forget melodies and an indelible baritone vocal are all pulled together in a daedal arrangement that will have you playing this song over and over again. And then again, just for good measure.
We can’t wait to hear what else Etches have in store for us, but for now, jump “into the fray” and revel in what is one of the most stunning débuts we’ve heard in a long time.
