The fight against breast cancer is a cause close to my heart. There aren’t many of us who haven’t been touched by this horrible disease, such as Naked Highway’s David Lee Rotten. Recently, David’s cousin LeAnn lost her battle with the disease. Instead of sitting down and feeling down about his loss he has taken to his talents to raise awareness by releasing “Shine On (LeAnn)”. Every donation he gets from the download of the song dedicated to his late cousin the money will go to research and support services.

Along with the release comes a very touching memorial video about DLR’s cousin, and how the disease progressed. The song is both positive and somber as “Shine On (LeAnn)” reflects on LeAnn’s memory with a piano-like synth and gives hope to know that her spirit will live on forever. I warn all of you, before watching, grab a box of tissues. It’s a beautifully done video.

Whether it is raising funds for an issue such as this or speaking out about injustice. Music does have the power to change the world. Fourculture and I wish David the best in raising funds to beat breast cancer once and for all.
