Genre blending producer Isabelle Rezazadeh (aka REZZ) returns with a video to complement recent single “Taste of You” (featuring singer/actress Dove Cameron). If you don’t know her from her music then you may have seen her in the recent Amazon Prime documentary Underplayed which highlights the current issues female DJs face in the industry.
“Taste of You” is an addictive slab of pounding electro with pop sensibilities at its essence. There’s a hint of Kim Petras and Charli XCX in the sound but the visuals in the new video directed by Felicity Heath elevate the song to a darker place. We have all the blood and longing needed for lines like ‘I starve without you on my lips, I die without the taste of it’ with Rezz saying ‘It’s the most fun I’ve personally had in a music video,’ and later tweeting ‘No one asked me to bite Dove Cameron’s lip but there I went.’ Gasp!
This song follows the impressive “Sacrificial” (featuring PVRIS) which is similarly engaging in its futuristic visuals and the use of sonic space in the mix.
Hoping for more from Rezz later in the year and if you are lucky you may catch at a summer festival near you…
