Have you ever wondered what the music industry was like in New York City in the 80s? A new comic book series entitled Gunning for Hits will give us a taste.

Created by award-winning music producer and writer Jeff Rougvie (recognized for his work with David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Big Star, Morphine and others) and artist Moritat (known for his work on The Spirit, Harley Quinn, Hellblazer) the series is based on Rougvie’s own experiences in the industry. Rougvie has been in the music business all his life and has much to share. The first storyline was inspired by his work with David Bowie.
Gunning for Hits focuses on a character named Martin Mills, a successful record company talent scout hoping to make an album with his favorite rock icon. Things go awry and Mills is forced to resort to deadly skills from his mysterious past in a bid to save his reputation as well as the artist’s career.
Gunning for Hits is Rougvie’s first work of fiction and we’re really excited about it. Each issue contains a background feature and is accompanied by its own Spotify playlist. The first series will be available in both digital and paperback on January 9.
