BLEACHx is the moniker of LA queer platinum-selling songwriter Jeremy Thurber, and it’s here for the long haul. His debut solo artist single “Dead Inside” is out now, and it might be the version of Twenty One Pilots we’ve always wanted if we’re being honest. The thumping alt-pop track embodies the loss in Jeremy’s life, and how he felt at the time of the project’s genesis.
“It’s a fun song that is a culmination of all the genres and writing styles I love and a goodbye to all the negative feelings I had inside,” explains Thurber. “I wanted something dark and maniacal you could also dance to. When I wrote it my dad passed away and my BF left me because he couldn’t deal with the grief of it all and it was exactly how I felt inside.”
The name BLEACHx was born from a place of wanting to “bleach” his past and start fresh with an unapologetic vengeance of angsty pop anthems. Known for his words, his lyrics touch on the playful but dark side of heartbreak, bad decisions, and self-medicating in all the wrong ways. Jeremy has had major success in the JPop/Kpop scene with artists like TVXQ, SHINee, and more and has collaborated and worked with Meghan Trainor, Jake Miller, and Greyson Chance to name a few.
Check out “Dead Inside” and keep an eye out for more new music this summer.
