Aimee deBeer Shares “The Takeover” Music Video

South Africa-born indie-pop songstress Aimee deBeer is back with the music video for her single “The Takeover,” and it’s beautiful and cinematic. The track is taken from her recent EP Who Will Save the Universe?, and marks her favorite instalment from the EP.

“It also serves as the final piece to the entire project,” she explains. “The song grapples with a current and looming threat to humanity’s experience of awe and inquiry — Technology.”

Aimee’s pet rabbit, Juniper, who she found right next to the front door of her home, makes a cameo in the video. And let’s be honest – we all love rabbits. The young talent also sewed and designed all of the clothing worn in the video.

Aimee deBeer spent her early childhood living in South Africa on a sailboat her father made and currently resides in Los Angeles. Making music that reads like fiction, she creates an alternative reality for listeners who are walking into the unknown. She sings with the vocal passion of Lykke Li and the retro dreamy style of Lana del Rey and writes with the imaginative perspective of Florence Welch.
