Abbie Ozard returns with “Pisces”

I don’t know why it took the video for Abbie Ozard’s “Pisces” to make me realise that the idea of a mermaid sitting on top of a washing machine could be so exciting.

It is a feature lacking in most utility rooms I imagine but perhaps I’m looking at the wrong websites?

Regardless, this single from her aquatic-themed EP Water Based Lullabies (out July 1st) is a breezy, effortless pop gem.  Contemporary and fresh, with the right level of retro, it’s an anthem of incompatibility that hooks you in like the journalistic temptation to use a water or star themed pun.

Manchester based Abbie says:
“After releasing songs about yearning, loss and change I was set on creating a bad bitch anthem that girls, gays, theys and everyone inbetween could feel empowered by. Pisces is about recognising your own strengths, taking control of what you really want and setting your standards high.”
